Export initiative of Anticancer Drugs of

Beacon Pharma gained widespread response

Beacon Pharma, the first and the only high-tech lyophilized anticancer drugs manufacturing facility of Bangladesh has taken initiative to export its world class products. Director Marketing of Beacon Pharma Mohammad Akhter Hussain recently visited six North African nations as a delegate of Bangladesh Pharmaceutical Marketing Mission. Bangladesh Association of Pharmaceutical Industries and Export Promotion Bureau jointly organized the mission to explore export market opportunities in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, Algeria, Morocco and Sudan during September 05 to 20, 2005.

As a member of the Marketing Mission Mr. Akhter had fruitful meetings with the Health Ministry, Drugs Administration and Pharmaceuticals Importers of those six countries. He explained important technical aspects of Beacon Pharma through a computer aided power point presentation. Mr. Akhter mentioned that Beacon Pharma has been designed by European consultants in order to be one of the finest facilities in the world. Spread over a magnificent landscape of 45 bighas of land the Tk. 200 crore project has been established to conform FDA-USA, MHRA-UK, TGA-Australia and CGMP-WHO standards. Equipped with the most automated machineries Beacon Pharma will manufacture specialized drugs from anti-cancer, hormone and cardiovascular therapeutic classes. Mr. Akhter distributed product list and other promotional materials of Beacon pharma to regulatory authorities and other prospective buyers. Most of them had shown their keen interest to import anticancer and other drugs of Beacon Pharma. Some of the importers had expressed their willingness to be the sole distributor of Beacon Pharma in their respective countries. Beacon Pharma is hopeful to export anticancer and other drugs after meeting countries demand.
